REPTONIANS SEE OXBRIDGE SUCCESS FOR 2026

Three Repton pupils have secured offers to study at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge this year, an outstanding achievement in an increasingly competitive admissions landscape.

Their success reflects not only academic excellence, but also the breadth of their commitment to school life, demonstrating Repton’s distinctive emphasis on balance and all‑round development, with pupils able to succeed at an elite level in both academic and co-curricular spheres.

Clara C (Head of School and Head of Field House) has received an offer from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, to read History with ab initio Spanish. This offer is just reward for Clara’s multiple academic interests, both in American History, particularly the motivations of the American Revolution, as well as in languages, investigating Spanish National Identity and undertaking her EPQ on French Politics. Alongside her outstanding academic profile and her multiple leadership roles within the school, Clara demonstrates sporting excellence as a member of the 1st XI Hockey team, she was part of the U18 National Indoor Championship‑winning squad this academic year and is co‑captain of the outdoor team, which is currently competing at the highest level nationally.

Will T (Upper Sixth, Orchard) has secured an offer from Jesus College, Cambridge, to read Mathematics, one of the most competitive courses in the country. His offer reflects his outstanding mathematical ability, further evidenced by his success in the UK Mathematics Trust competitions, including achieving a Merit - the highest available award - in the Senior Kangaroo. Beyond the syllabus, Will has completed extensive work on modular arithmetic and researched Fermat’s Little Theorem. Will is currently studying four A Levels alongside an elite swimming programme, where he competes nationally for Repton Swim Club, is a national medallist, and recently won silver at the ESSA National Medley Relay. He is also a member of the Team GB Youth Development Camp.

Elektra Stevenson (Old Reptonian, Abbey 2025) has received an offer from The Queen’s College, Oxford, to read French and Modern Greek. A highly accomplished linguist, Elektra reached the finals of the national French debating competition Les Joutes Oratoires on two occasions, finishing fourth nationally in 2025. Her particular interests lie in French literature, having written on Camus, Voltaire and reading contemporary authors such as Houellebecq. She left Repton last year having achieved A* A* A A at A Level, a testament to her academic focus and passion for languages and spent time working at Alstom in Paris to further develop her language.

We are proud of all our pupils’ success, with 80% of Repton pupils applying to Oxford or Cambridge this year invited to interview, reflecting the strength, ambition and quality of their applications in such a competitive process. To date, Upper Sixth pupils have received 455 offers from several prestigious universities such as Edinburgh, St Andrews, Bristol, Durham, Bath, Warwick, London School of Economics, Kings College London, University College London, Manchester, Liverpool and many more.
