A Summer of Sport at Repton

Full days of training, expert coaching and new friendships: this summer, Repton welcomed over a hundred young athletes from across the UK to our first-ever residential sports camps.

Cricketers, swimmers and footballers spent their holidays training with our coaches, competing and getting a taste of life at the School.

Properly full days

No matter the sport, attendees stayed busy from morning to evening.

Cricketers worked on technique and decision-making in the nets, with specialist catching and wicketkeeping sessions, before putting their skills into practice in matches at the end of each day.

Club-level swimmers used the camp to prepare for the season ahead, refining their technique with focused sessions in the pool.

Footballers developed their game in the run-up to the new season, combining skills sessions with games that let them test what they had learned.

Coaching tailored to every player

Across the camps, coaching was matched to each young person's level, whether they were just starting out or already competing at club level. Parents told us how much their children valued fresh feedback and the chance to push themselves.

More than training

The residential format added an extra dimension to the experience. Many campers arrived not knowing anyone, and one family described how much their 11-year-old gained from teaming up with players he had never met and staying at the School. Between sessions, participants made the most of Repton's facilities and grew in confidence away from home. Day places also meant young people living locally could join in.

Looking ahead to 2027

A huge thank you to our coaches, pastoral staff and everyone behind the scenes who made our first year such a success. Planning for next summer is already underway, and we look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and meeting new ones.
