ACADEMY SELECTIONS FOR TALENTED REPTON CRICKETERS.
With the winter cricket programme in full swing at Repton, numerous pupils have been selected into Academies and Emerging Player Programmes for their respective counties, successfully balancing their sporting commitments alongside academic studies.
After making his Derbyshire CCC 2nd XI debut in September, Yousaf B N secured his second year with Derbyshire CCC Academy where he will be joined by new selections Will T and Olly F. Harry M has been promoted from the Mini Academy and Izu C has been selected for the Derbyshire CCC Mini Academy Emerging Player Programme. Gennaro R has been invited to join Lancashire CCC Academy and Omaris K has been selected into Warwickshire’s Emerging Player Programme.
The Academy and EPP programmes are for players who display a high level of commitment, strong work ethic and display the potential to be a professional cricketer. The aim is to develop the talent of young cricketers with regular tailored training sessions that focus not just on the physical, but mental development of future elite athletes. The principal aim is to identify talented cricketers who have the skills to progress through Academy level into England Development Programmes, playing First Class cricket and beyond.
Repton’s strong links with county cricket clubs enables pupils to be involved in performance pathways without comprising their education. Our dedicated coaches work closely with external performance managers to provide an integrated programme to develop players both at school and whilst with their counties.
